Log #2 | Process and Practice


Worked today to really chase the bugs, understand the UI and craft the story.


One of the Biggest Bugs from Days 1/2:

- The Double Click issue:

This was where we had the ability to press other UI buttons while the camera moved to the next place in the scene.

As a goal, I was attempting a smooth UI that seamlessly transitions between the opening scenes and does not break continuity. 

Working with ChatGPT was empowered me to fail fast and create many prototype scripts and I've pulled in several libraries I've not used before:
DoTween 
as an example, which has been super useful.

That has allowed me to move the UI elements cleanly around the canvas, but I needed to make element not interactable.

I've also used ChatGPT to add the Title, and used NightCafe to then stylize the title. (I've run out of OpenAI Dalle Credits until the 14th and do not choose to pay for these services at this time)
[As a note NightCafe provides  5 free credits a day, and many discords exist at this point in time  to generate images for free] 

Urbanity feels fitting, and like much of the code, it's a good enough place holder for this hackathon.\

Final Thoughts:

WebGL and CORS make Video Textures non-existent, in 2023, I dare to ask why.
